Simon Cheng is the founder of Han Lion Group. Prior to Han Lion, Simon spent 9 years as an investor and operator in consumer companies. He holds an honors AB degree in History from Harvard University and an MBA degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Advisory Team
William Hsiao is the K.T. Li Professor of Economics at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a leading global expert in universal health insurance. He has advised many nations in reforming their national health systems, including USA, China, Sweden, Colombia, Poland, Uganda, and South Africa. Hsiao has published more than 180 papers and several books. He won the “Man of the Year in Medicine Award” in 1989. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Science, National Academy of Social Insurance, and Society of Actuaries. He has also served as advisor to three US presidents, US Congress, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Health Organization. Hsiao received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
Supply Chain
Hau L. Lee is the Thoma Professor of Operations, Information and Technology at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. His areas of specialization include supply chain management, global logistics system design, inventory planning, and manufacturing strategy. His coauthored paper, “Information Distortion in a Supply Chain: The Bullwhip Effect,” was voted one of the 10 most influential papers in the history of Management Science. Lee earned his MSc degree in Operational Research from the London School of Economics, and MS and PhD degrees in Operations Research from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Marketing
Baba Shiv is the Sanwa Bank Professor of Marketing at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has researched the neuroeconomics behind innovation and entrepreneurship leadership in companies small and large, from silicon valley tech startups to Fortune 500 companies. The courses he has taught include Entrepreneurial Ventures in Luxury Markets. His work has been featured in a variety of media outlets including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CNN, Fox Business, FT, NYT and WSJ. Shiv has earned a PhD from Duke University; MBA from Indian Institute of Management and BE from College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai.
Strategy
Guy Chambers joined John Swire and Sons in 1993 and is currently seconded as COO of a Chinese F&B company in which Swire has a minority stake. Prior to his current appointment, he was COO (Greater China) and Executive Board member of Swire Beverages, the largest Coca-Cola franchise bottler in China. From 1993 until 2012, he held various senior management positions in Swire Beverages. Whilst in Swire Beverages, Guy was also a Committee Member of The Consumer Goods Forum, a global, parity-based industry network. Mr Chambers is a graduate of the Chinese Department of Cambridge University and a fluent Mandarin speaker.
R&D
Bian Zhao-xiang is Associate Vice-President of the Hong Kong Baptist University and Director of the Clinical Division. HKBU is a preeminent center of research for Chinese Medicine and the only university in Hong Kong with a clinical division for TCM. Dr. Bian specializes in the clinical practice and research of Internal Medicine. Educated at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology and Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he was conferred a Ph.D. in TCM in 1994.
